Donald Ray, who was Head of Music at BHCHS from 1951 to 1961 died on 8th March 2010 following a short illness. He was 81.
Don Ray was admired both as a fine teacher and a talented and versatile musician. A full obituary, including tributes from his former BHCHS pupils, was published in the Autumn edition of Old Buckwellians News.
A memorial concert for Don was held on 18th September. It was a superb evening and a fitting tribute to the great man. Several Old Bucks participated in the concert and more were in the huge audience at Chingford Parish Church. A full report will appear in the Spring edition of Old Buckwellians News.
