You read about it first in OB News, and now it has happened - the irrepressible Barry Hearn has taken ping pong back to being a spectator sport. It took Barry's drive and vision to set up a World Championship of Ping Pong held at Alexandra Palace recently with prize money of $100,000 and live coverage on Sky TV. It was a superb event and I was delighted to be there supporting some of my club mates from BATTS Harlow who did well to reach the later stages of the exciting competition.
