The world is becoming a more dangerous place. Each new disaster or war involves peril and uncertainty for some our our far flung Old Bucks. I have recently heard from two who have thankfully escaped unharmed from highly dangerous situations. Dr Peter Smith (1971) has emailed to confirm that he and his family are safe in Japan and a couple of weeks earlier I was relieved to hear from Martin Parrish (1961) who managed to escape from Libya. Both Peter and Martin were extremely close to danger. I hope to hear soon from Peter Phillips (1955) who is also in Japan and will report from him as soon as he contacts me.
Update 3/4/11 - Peter Phillips (1955) is fine. He is located well away from the affected area of Japan.
