Daring Leap for Alan

Alan Manning (1941) will be taking on a mind-numbing jump that would turn most people half his age into a quivering nervous wreck.

He will be abseiling 120 feet down the YMCA building in Romford on Sunday 12th September.

Alan is raising money for the registered charity "APPLE" (Association of Prostate Patients in London and Essex). This charity was set up in 2000 and it committed to raising awareness about prostate cancer, encouraging men to seek advice early. Fundraising has made it possible to purchase state of the art medical equipment for King George Hospital urology department as well as funding public information events and research projects.

Thanks to the treatment Alan himself received he has been in remission from prostate cancer for the last eight years.

If you would like to sponsor Alan in this worthy venture it is easy to do so online. Just go to his sponsorship page by clicking HERE. Readers of OB News will be only too well aware of how common is the scourge of prostate cancer. Donating through Just Giving is simple, fast and totally secure.

Alan will be almost 80 when he performs his leap for charity. But make no mistake, he means business.  This was Alan in another daring venture a few years ago, pretending to be Tarzan....
